Amy and I had a lovely afternoon last week catching up with Carrie-Anne. We enjoyed the afternoon sunshine, chasing birds and playing in the daffodils.

Robin Hood's Stride
Dan and I went along to the East Midlands Geological Society lecture on Saturday evening given by Tim Colman. Gerry was there and invited Amy and I along to the Derby WEA fieldtrip. So on Wednesday Amy and I went to Robin Hood's Stride and luckily the weather that day was perfect for walking.

Waving at lorries while waiting for the bus.

Mingling, exploring and getting very muddy!
Stomping around the countryside. She got a lot of giggles running down the hills. Robin Hood's Stride is the rock formation off to the left hand side of this picture. Amy walked virtually all the way there from Elton which is over 2km's.
Lunch break.
Up at Robin Hood's Stride. We had 360 degree views of the country side. We are looking at a stone circle near Castle Ring an old medieval fort. In the distance is Haddon Hall and Manners wood.
Flat out after a lovely day in the country side.
Back in Derby and a very happy little girl.
Amy's new hat
Amy is the proud new owner of a beautiful new hat crocheted by Aunty Niki. I know she loves it because I have found her infront of the mirror a few times trying it on and admiring herself! Now Amy has a matching hat with her cousin Emma.
The concerned face is just that she has a face full of banana and it is obviously taking a lot of concentration.
After leaving the park Amy escaped, so Adam frog marched her back to me after I asked him to get her. Thanks Adam!
Just some other pictures... Enjoying spaghetti, she loves sucking up the pasta. Bananas and custard at Carrie-Anne's.
We often get big beautiful rainbows in the same spot. Amy enjoyed looking at it, and thought it was a circle.

Chocolate Brownies
So we decided to make some brownies this afternoon. Amy was pleased:
"Where did the brownie go, Amy?"
"Where? I can't quite see."

Amy the cook
Amy and I had a little cooking session making mince pies. Amy worked very hard and the results were very good!

Setting up all the equipment.
Getting out the ingredients.
Having a good old fiddle with the flour.
"Do you need some sugar mum?"
Baking is hard work!

Sampling the pastry.
The final product, plus some celemtines for decoration.
November
Sorry folks, it really has been a while since I posted anything new. Here are a few pics of what we got up to in November; fireworks at the Flinn's, a dancing baby and a visit to Wollaton Hall.
