Guinea Pig

It's cruel to do testing on animals, so I'm Dan's new guinea pig. To be honest guinea pigs eyes are pretty small and they'd be pretty hard see the back of... check out my pupils!!

Sledging at the golf course

On Saturday we decided we wanted to make the most of the beautiful weather, so headed out to the Dales for a short walk. We didn't get much further than the golf course at Duffield because the massive hill was great fun to sledge on, and lucky we brough our trusty plastic sheet. Dan had lots of fun taking photos of just about everything and anything.

Sledging

Dan came home early on Wednesday, so we went up to the top of the big hill at our nearest park.  There were a fair few other people riding on a variety of items.  We just had some black plastic tarpaulin.  High speed descents but bruised knees!  There were a group of boys who were really funny to watch, usually going in piles of three to four at a time.  Amy loved the snow.

Katy's been knitting

Amy has another new hat.  And she likes chomping on orange segments.

Christmas Week

We spent the week after Christmas visiting with family, and had a really nice time.  Flinns = settlers of catan.  Went to church in Notts 1.

Went to Knottingley to see Grandma and Grandad Woodall and Uncle Stephen.

Josua Miller came to play with Amy in Thurlby.

Low key new years, playing the Logo game just Dan and Katy.  Amy was asleep - thankfully.

Happy New Year!

Christmas Day

Rudolf got left behind!

Amy really enjoyed Christmas more than we expected.  She quickly got the hang of ripping the presents open and eating the paper (though this was expected), and she was really intrigued by all the new things that she had to play with throughout the day.

Amy got the biggest present.  She was pleased about that if you can't tell.

After all the presents were opened, Amy had a nap and we headed out for a walk in the snow.  It was really precarious ice in Thurlby, but it was gorgeous sunshine.  I got to play with my new old camera that I had bought with my birthday money.

Then it was back for a yummy Christmas dinner.  Rebecca cooked the Turkey and made sauces.  It was all gorgeous.  Amy joined in with the three course meal, sitting in her brilliant red high chair and especially enjoyed the chocolate pudding and cream.

After dinner had settled we went to Ramsey for present opening round 2.  Dan trumped Amy for the biggest present as he got a huge anatomy book - its a reprint from the nineteenth century and has some amazing pictures.  Dan particularly likes the illustrations of surgical procedures, especially the gorier ones!

We had a lovely evening and stayed late chatting with Helen and Scott, before driving back to Thurlby.  A lovely day.

Christmas Eve Eve

The Cryers came over to play!  We went to Bourne woods for a walk in the snow.

It was very reserved until the inevitable snowball fight erupted...  I got my own back on Katy, and I'm a better shot!

Afterwards we had chili and baked potatoes, and Amy shared her toys with her cousins.

Amy is upright

Amy has graduated to the pushchair!  She is interested in cars, now that she can see them rather than just hear them.

The Daly's Return

Isobelle, Fraser and Dominic have returned to the UK and paid us a visit in Derby in the week before Christmas.  We wondered if they'd make it as they had tickets for the Eurostar during the mayhem!  They wisely avoided the chunnel by getting some last minute plane tickets.  Phew!  We met them and what seemed to be all their worldly belongings (they weren't - but they were big bags) at the Quad.  We had a nice time and we hope Dominic enjoyed himself enough to come back soon.
