Donna Nook

Boxing day

Our gingerbread house

For the last couple of years I have wanted to go to the Midnight Christmas Eve service at the Cathedral, so being as we live so close, we final went. Carrie-Anne and another of her work friends also joined us. However, before we left for the service Carrie-Anne produced this gingerbread house from the boot of her car. I have never seen anything like it! It really made my day, all Christmas evening (and day) I just couldn't stop looking at it. The smell (and taste) was absolutely beautiful.
Carrie-Anne designed it on our house, with the back porch.
You could even see through the window and doors all made of sweeties!

We had such a laugh demolishing it.
We all ate so much in one sitting. Amy was devasted to find that Roy had eaten the pebbledash (jellybeandash) porch that she'd had her eyes on.

The main event

Christmas day was lovely. I forgot to mention that on Christmas eve some suspicious spots appeared all over Amy. Yes, you guessed it chicken pox. So our Christmas holiday plans had to be slightly altered and we weren't able to see Uncle Robin, Aunty Niki, Adam, Emma, Uncle John, Aunty Hannah or Asher.
Amy didn't seem at all bothered about the spots and got right down to opening presents. One downside of the spots was no Christmas carol service on Christmas day. I think this year I have only sung a couple of carols. I'll have to make up for it next year.
Dan prepared the lamb before we got stuck into opening all the gifts.
Bobbie and her lovely new dolly.
Amy and her cash register... she preceeded to scan every present we opened before we could have a look at them.
Grandma and Grandpa's balloon ride gift.

Thank you Grandma.
It's a bobble!
Awesome handknitted hats from Anna!
Despite what it looks like Bobbie was not wrapped up, she was mearly helping open the present.
Enjoying drawing with Grandpa.
Checking out Bobbie's new toy.
Full of Christmas cheer.
Christmas dinner is just the best, especially when you haven't cooked it!
Evening walk around the cathedral.
