Jubilee

Dan was lucky enough to have the Jubilee weekend off. So, instead of just hanging around Lincoln, we decided to join in the festivities in London. Elder Howe (Tucker) a missionary who served in Lincoln for ages also happened to be in London that weekend with his family, so we had the chance to catch up with those guys for a day which was great!

 So was the south bank and some people got a bit desperate.

 Apparently the queen was in white... it certainly looked like her. But then again it just may have been a card board cut out.

We had a lovely day waving out flags, watching the boats and getting into the spirit of things, then the rain came and the temperature seemed to drop about 10 degree in minutes. Luckily we'd seen most of the precession by that point. We were highly impress by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra singers who just kept on going and going despite the downpour and freezing conditions.

 Getting back didn't turn out to easy either all the rail stations were closed due to over crowding where we were so we had to bus it back across London. Amy was absolute gone.

 We spent our last day in London at the Science Museum. My Grandpa used to fly one of these babies in the  second world war.

 Amy was really taken by Amy Johnson's aeroplane Jason. She loved the story about her solo flight to Australia and all the difficulties along the way. But she really liked that the plane had lots of "A's" under its wings.

 We had fun playing around with all the cool experiments.

 We spent the rest of the afternoon at the Serpentine Gallery and in Hyde Park. There was an exhibition by Hans-Peter Feldman which was fun. It made we want to make collections of random things, I particularly like his collection of seascapes.

The girls had a lovely weekend and were so well behaved despite being dragged round London.

I didn't realise May was so sunny. I'm sat here in the cold wishing summer was still here. We had a fairly quiet month. There were a few of trips to Nottingham to start the house hunt, but apart from a visit from Hannah and Asher the rest of our time was spent enjoying the good weather and sights in Lincoln.

More April

Another fun filled month with lots of visitors and little trips out and about in Lincoln, Nottingham and Derby.

 Amy was very pleased with her Easter stash. Needless to say, it didn't last long. Don't worry, she didn't eat it in the bathroom, her Easter egg hunt just took her all over the house.

 It's lovely to see them getting along so well.

 Owls in the castle a regular feature. 

 The Davis family from Derby came across for a visit before their move back to the states. The kids had a great time exploring Lincoln including the castle, cathedral and steep hill.

 The girls and I often go for a wander around the castle walls. The new visitors centre is coming along nicely. We enjoyed watching the men brushing tidal waves of water off the roof.

 Bobbie has come along in leaps and bounds sitting up unaided just after the 5 month mark and starting on solids just before 6 months. She got well stuck in regardless of having no teeth.

 The kids travel so well, I really enjoy going on the train with the girls. They enjoy watching the world go by and being around other passengers.

Into April

Yet another fun filled month with lots of visits from friends and fun with the girls.

 It was lovely to have Catharine stay for a few days and be able to properly catch up and spend some quality time together.
