Peaceful Warrior and sunny afternoons around the cathedral

As usual we went for a Sunday afternoon stroll around the cathedral enjoying the sunshine and music man's music. We ended up having a chance encounter with a really interesting character in the beginning stages of a  walking journey around the UK. Peaceful Warrior was embarking on his 'IMAGINE' project and was on a quest to find out from the people he met along his way: What makes Britain truly great? We invited him back to our house to spend the night and continue our conversation, as the kids needed to get to bed. We had a really lovely evening in good company, it was great to open our home and make a new friend. Peaceful was such an honest, nice guy on such an interesting journey.
Here's the link to his blog of his journey so far. This is the day that he stayed with us:

Peaceful ready to embark on his journey towards the coast.

I've had such a lovely time in Lincoln being able to do my ordinary day to day tasks in the historic Bailgate area. For instance, it was actually impossible to go the the local fruit and veg shop without passing under a Roman gateway and a Roman well and entrance to a Roman Forum. The post office was in the shadows of the cathedral so it was only natural to visit these historical places often.

Collecting sticks for a camp fire next to Tennyson and his dog.

The best ice cream in Lincoln.

Borrowing a scooter from a new friend.

 Picnic time.
I must have spent hours admiring the buildings surrounding the cathedral.
